Counting down

Salsa is once again sending a large contingent to Salsa Digital, both as attendees and speakers. In total, you’ll see 11 Salsarians on the ground in Hobart. While we’ll all be there to soak up the open source and Drupal good vibes, we’ve also got some serious business on the agenda. As well as being Gold Sponsors, Salsa is giving back to the Drupal community through our 100-hour pledge and we’ve got three speakers on the schedule. 

Our open source giveback pledge

As one of our DrupalSouth 2019 initiatives, we’re pledging 100 hours to the Drupal community. And it doesn’t have to be coding. In addition to Drupal coding, our 100 hours will cover content, QA, peer review, etc. So, what should we focus on? In true community style, we’re going to take it to the Drupal community, at DrupalSouth. These are our plans: 

• Day 1: We’ll be on a mission to get ideas from attendees — what do they want to see done? What are the burning issues?

• Day 2: We’ll poll the attendees on which ideas to select, to get us a top 5

After that, we’ll give the Drupal community one month to vote on the top 5 Drupal issues they’d like us to work on.

Our speakers

We’ve also got three speakers on the bill for DrupalSouth 2019. Our speakers are:

• Paul Morriss — Paul will be talking with Catherine Driessen from the Department of Communications and the Arts. Their topic: Let’s keep this G rated - redevelopment of classification.gov.au on GovCMS. More info

• Julie Erben — Julie will be talking with Nathan Wall from GovCMS, Department of Finance. Their topic: It takes two to tango - a true partnership approach. More info

• Akhil Bhandari — Akhil will be talking process maps in his talk: Not all maps lead to treasure - but a good process map can lead to a successful project! More info
